Democracy seems to be at play in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party which successfully managed to organize and conduct a peaceful and colorful convention on 1st to 3rd July , at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.
Over 2000 delegates were present at Comesa Hall where they elected into various leaders into various positions to lead the party into 2019 landslide victory.
The organizing committee gave the power to president elect, Prof Arthur Peter Mutharika to fill other positions with people of his choice.
However, during his acceptance speech, President Mutharika denied the task of choosing the people, saying he is not a dictator and as a true democrat, he will task the Central committer of the party to meet and decide those to fill vacant posts.
