People of Machinga district who have waited for over 52 years to have a national secondary school in their area will soon smile, thanks to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) government of President Peter Mutharika for construction first ever national secondary school in the district.
According to Malawi Independent reporter in the Area, Machinga National Secondary school is nearly completed, hoping to be opened and become operational by next school calendar which start in September 2018.
The construction cost fir magnificent Machinga Secondary school was estimated at K750 million and to have full be a full boarding secondary school situated in Chideya Village, Liwonde in the district .
Previously, Machinga was within Balaka district and when it became an independent district in 1998 it found itself without a boarding secondary .
President Mutharika promised the people of Machinga that before his first term ends, he would make sure that the district has a secondary school of its own, and he has lived to his word.
