DPP Whipping MCP In Mock Elections

In the lead

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is leading in the ‘mock elections’ currently taking place through the internet.

Malawi Congress Party (MCP), United Democratic Front (UDF) and Peoples Party (PP) are also participating in the mock elections, where Malawians are voting through their mobile phones, and an individual can only vote once.

As of Wednesday morning, DPP was leading with 52 percent, and MCP is coming second with 45 percent.

Former ruling parties, UDF and PP are sharing the remaining six percent.

Voting started on 3rd March and was expected to end on 5th March 2018. However, as of Wednesday 7th March, Malawi Independent noted that voting was still under way.
