Dausi Rejects Chaponda Twice: ‘He Is Confused To Link Me, DPP With Money Found In His House
Minister of Information and communication Technology Nicholas Dausi has rejected former Minister of Agriculture George Chaponda once more , saying he must be a confused man to have linked him (Dausi) and the ruling Democratic Progressive Party to the Millions of dollars and local currencies which the ACB found stashed in his house, at the pick of Maizegate scandal investigations.
Chaponda when he mate his fate from the Anti-Corruption Bureau, told the officers who went to his house that the money which was found in his house belonged to DPP which they got from one of the Blue night function in Lilongwe and later changed his statement saying he wanted to donate the money to the ruling party.
However, this publication understands that Minister of Industry, Trade and tourism Henry Mussa who is also the treasurer General for the ruling party denied Chaponda assertions and distanced the ruling party from Chaponda’s dubiously obtained money, a development which was also supported by Dausi.
It has also been revealed Chaponda upon his arrest by the ACB did not have licence to keep forex at his house.
