Youths in the country have hailed President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and DPP led government for securing $9 Million (MWK7 Billion from Africa Development Bank (AfDB) which the youth of this country can be assisted with a loan to start a small scale business.
YAS leader Charles Kajoloweka in an interview with this publication at BICC just after the launch of 2019 Tripartite Elections, he described the news as a positive development as the youths in the country are not subjected to political abuse but deserve the best from their leaders.
It is at the heart of the state President to empower the youth to escape unemployment and develop their lives, families and the nation at large.
The eligible youth will undergo training in community colleges before they access a start up capital.
So far, about 700 youth who successfully completed their courses have already received equipment for bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, frication and welding, motorcycle mechanics and fashion designing.
In an interview with the local media Ministry of Labour Youth, Sports and Manpower development principal secretary Joseph Mwandidya said by distributing the equipment and setting aside money for youth, it shows that government is serious to reduce youth unemployment.
