President Mutharika Cheers Former MCP President Cum Leader Of Opposition JZU Tembo

Malawi President Prof.Arthur Peter Mutharika on Wednesday paid a visit to immediate past Malawi Congress Party President John Zeus Ungapake Tembo who until his political retirement was leader of opposition in parliament.

JZU Tembo was one of the Trusted aides of late President  Kamuzu Banda who served in his cabinet and is one of the longest serving parliamentarians in the history of Malawi politics.

President Mutharika cheers John TemboMutharika visited Tembo at his area 10 residence in Lilongwe just after presiding over  the launch of national peace policy at a function which took place at BICC in Lilongwe.

Malawi President Mutharika with John TemboJohn Tembo went to his political retirement in 2013 during the MCP convention, ending his political career which started in the 60’s.

Tembo and MutharikaApart from being an influential figure in MCP, John Tembo also served as a Reserve Bank of Malawi governor.
